blessed day to you
My favorite verse:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8 KJV
Update: this forum is being reconsidered as a subdomain of the KJBO site or part of the mobile site or back in the same folder URL of the main KJBO site it was before but with a redirect/mirror from where it is currently hosted. For the time being, I am holding off on sharing this with more people as it may change. If this happens the comment history would also be put back in like an archive. This separate hosting of this site in the interim is still useful for testing and development.
God is with us,
Amen!!
I fully agree with you Bryan. A similar thing happened in a Bible Study/Fellowship home group my wife and I used to attend recently. For the study, a video was played, of a lady who was a comedian by profession, sharing from the Word. As you can imagine, the study was interspersed with comedy. We left that group and also that Church.
Very sadly, we're seeing more and more Church leaders resorting to AI for sermon preparation. I don't know why? Maybe because they want to get the preparation over and done with quickly and not having to put in the much-needed prayer, personal study, and waiting on God's Spirit for direction? And most often, we, the congregation, are unaware of such things and simply receive the Word as given. Sure, we can still receive blessing from the Word spoken, but if errors are mixed within, those untrained in the Word can surely be misled into believing lies (as you wrote).
We would do well to remember the Apostle's wise words to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:3,4; these truths are not only presently found in false Churches, but will become more rampant as good Christian men engage other devices to help & support their ministries, casting aside the LORD Himself to be their only Guide & Inspiration. LORD, help us to be alert and vigilant to these ungodly developments.
Last week I visited a non-denominational Christian church and during the 1 hour sermon the pastor played a video made by AI that he liked. He then quoted the words from the auto generated AI text. After the video the audience clapped.
Am I the only one concerned about AI used in churches?
Shouldn't the source instead be direct from the Bible? I'm disturbed by this and I already met a pastor (unrelated church) who admitted he uses chat GPT to write his sermons. I have no doubt it saves time to give him outlines, BUT, isn't it possible this technology can slowly nudge people one direction or the other on what the truth is?
Facebook admitted it censored Christian and conservative content in past years. Google has tinkered with search results in the past to remove certain people suppress conservative or Christian opinions. Most big tech AI companies are still headquartered around San Francisco (like Sodom and Gomorrah). Much of the information in AI is scanned from Reddit and Wikipedia which is hugely leaning against Christianity and wholesome family values. If people get in the habit of blindly trusting AI for guidance and now using for sermons to influence others I do not feel this will end well. What if the antichrist comes in electronic form like this. Am I over reacting?
Thanks Admin for those clarifications.
My two cents worth or even less: the Holy Ghost/Spirit.
KJBO main site recorded 141k searches in the last 48 hours.
What are people searching?
unique searches, search
762, go
412, guide
267, by
260, the keys to the kingdom
251, thought
222, God
214, bad things that happen to good people
207, acknowledge
198, the kingdom of God
196, see
Normally 'Jesus' is by far the most searched word (sometimes 2x more), but in only 2 days it is different than normal. Any guesses what it is?
[Update: the top searched word was 'GO']
Thank you Chris for the feedback.
Because the site is new it's not yet in Google or other search results.
This site is associated with KJV, and the KJBO site will soon link to it from the former discussion pages. One option is to change the logo to KJV BibleTalk but want visitors to know that all Bible questions are welcome.
If members can help by clicking the Report button for any posts that doesn't belong then it will keep it clean. Facebook and other social chats work this way without active moderators. There's also some programmable safety nets that will screen for certain keywords commonly used in spam posts.
Some other updates will be made today but the site will soon be ready to do a wider launch to users from Facebook and the KJBO site.
Thank you for being a part of this site launch!
Brother Chris,
Thank you so much for the prayers. All is well here and I hope all is well on your end of the world. Yes, what a blessing to be able to once again fellowship in God's Word!!!
God Bless!!!
Thanks for your welcome Admin. It is wonderful to be able to share with one another around God's Word and thank you to all of you who are making this possible. You asked for comments/suggestions, so a few things that quickly come to mind:
a. It is interesting that the Google Search engine does not give Bibletalk.cc as an option to select, rather going back to the more popular Bibletalk.tv. Maybe, once this Site is fully operational and the web address changes somewhat, it will become an option. I say this, since presently many won't know of its availability. In fact, Google AI indicates that Bibletalk.cc and Bibletalk.tv and connected in some way.
b. I wasn't able to detect that Bibletalk.cc is based on & uses the KJB. This could be an important point to make clear or it might bring some confusion when quoting from it or in discussion in support of it.
c. You mentioned that it was "hoped that this new format can be self-moderating by community members". Maybe to some extent, yes. But for removing unacceptable posts, the community would not have that capability.
d. It would be nice to centralize as much of the features of this Site onto one Site (as was seen in KJB Online). Though I realize that for reasons you have shared (i.e. security aspects), this may not be the best way to go. Otherwise, a great development for those who love God's Word and want to learn and discuss it with other like-minded folk.
Just sending the above as my initial thoughts on these new developments take shape. Thanks again for all your hard work. Blessings to all.
Brother Jesse. What a nice surprise to see you here - after such a long time. Trust that you and your loved ones have been doing well and enjoying the Lord's blessings daily. It is my hope and prayer that others from the old KJB Online Site will also join us here and renew sweet fellowship around the Word of God. Have been keeping you all in prayer during that time of forced silence. Every blessing dear brother.
Dear KJBO,
Thank you so much for reaching out and also for putting together this new forum. I pray that the Lord will keep this forum safe from those who wish to cause harm and I pray for those who do not yet know the Lord, that they may come to know Him through the testimonies of those of us who come here and share our love for the Lord, our walk with Christ, and what He has done in our lives.
May God Bless this forum and all who visit!
Welcome! The site seems stable enough to send out more invites to join. We have testers in the coming days who will be checking everything.
Chris is one of the regulars and long time contributor from the previous KJBO discussion pages before recent changes. His following up about it prompted this development project to be finished off.
Why it's a separate site now?
Before the recent attack on KJBO, it was discovered that the discussions area was the top liability for
database performance. It was a bottleneck that adversely affected the speed of the main chapter reading pages. After the attack, which hackers infiltrated the server and deleted everything but left a note demanding bitcoin, it was decided to put it on pause, because it would all need to be redone from scratch.
Bible Discussions was considered to make as a separate website- now this BibleTalk website. We want it to support the King James Bible reading community, but don't want security or other risks. Much time was spent moderating the former pages and it is hoped this new format can be self-moderating by community members.
Some differences in this new BibleTalk forum:
Longer text inputs, more sorting options, 🤗 emojis, search, user profiles, Bible reference links work on this site like the previous one, like Phil 4:8. This is hosted on a modern cloud network that should be fast and reliable around the world.
We also made a whole new KJBO website hosted on a more stable network, which is called the 'mobile' site. https://m.kingjamesbibleonline.org/ It already has more reading-related features than the main KJBO site. Your feedback is welcome- if enough users prefer that we may make that the main default site in the future.
Search is also a priority as millions of searches happen on the site. https://searchbible.net this site is being proposed to replace the homepage current default search and feedback is welcome for this too. It is a nice 'instant search' that is forgiving of typos. (the site is not 100% complete so side category filters probably don't work yet). Here's a fun experimental KJV emoji search that was also put together: https://kjv-emojis.pages.dev
What do you think of this BibleTalk site currently?
Hi Bryan. Your question, though very reasonable, would be impossible to answer given what we are told in Genesis chaps 6 and 7. In those chapters, we're not even told about the species, genus, family, etc. of those animals that Noah was instructed to bring onto the ark. So, one can only assume that the animals living and in proximity to Noah were taken (according to their number, yet those living in the sea were excluded), therefore their species taken into the ark would have been relatively small in number.
How then do we now have such a great variety of animals today, even from the examples you gave? As much as I don't believe in evolution as is commonly understood today (i.e. small changes over millenia can cause one species of animal to evolve into another totally different species), I do believe that over time, animals (and plants) can 'evolve' in their features, adapting to new surroundings/climate, dietary changes, mating of animals of the same genus (e.g. the horse and donkey), etc. And all these exist as a part of life and survival in an abundant yet changing world. How those examples you gave of crayfish, pupfish, and blind salamanders came into existence, I simply have no answer, except for what I've shared above, of various life forms changing over time, and for us to thank the Lord for the beauty of creation and the great variety He has given us to be a part of and enjoy. Blessings.
Prayers for this forum- I pray it brings people together united in Christ. That it is uplifting and pleasing to the Lord.
Animals on earth seem really well designed to fit their specific ecosystem to where they usually don't survive outside of it. How would that work for bringing them on the ark- like for fresh water only creatures? Freshwater crayfish, pupfish from thermal pools, or no-eyed salamanders from wet cave habitats?
Thanks to KJBO Admin, I've just popped in to check out this new Site. Looks very promising and hope it will develop well and that we'll also see the 'old' faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who were on the Discussion Pages of KJBO for many years, come on here as well.
